The fruit is about the size of a large orange, with a subtly six-sided shape and smooth, leathery skin that varies from brownish-yellow to red. Inside, it is divided into several chambers filled with numerous thin, transparent arils of reddish, juicy pulp, each encasing an angular, elongated seed. Up to 15 pieces are expected per kilogram.
